Geography (IP Years 3-4)

In order to understand the world we live in, geography is not important, it is essential.  We take pride in helping you see the links and relationships in the world around you. In our Integrated Programme, we view the subject as a multi-faceted discipline that is grounded by a view of the world through a spatial lens. Together, we will expand our understanding of the world by looking at issues that go beyond our shores.


The advantage of an education in geography in our Integrated Programme is the diverse pedagogies that we engage in. From poster presentations to creative mapping exercises, you will be exposed to learning in new and creative ways that are rigorous and well aligned to the crafted syllabus content. Our curriculum is designed using Understanding by Design (UBD) principles, promoting ‘essential understandings’ for every topic in the syllabus.


An education in Geography is not complete without venturing into the world around us and we are committed to creating opportunities for you to participate in talks, exhibitions and fieldwork investigations. Our learning activities beyond the classroom have taken us to places like Bollywood Veggies, S.E.A. Aquarium and East Coast Park. To harness the innate potential of our students, we also diligently send them to participate in NUS’s Geography Challenge every year. 


Four IP4 Geography students - Reyhern M Razali, Lim Xin Yi, Jaime Foo & Clarice Kee - participated in the 2019 Geography Challenge Preliminary Competition in Feb, 2019. Our team has qualified for the Semi Finals of the competition, to be held on 23 March!

In addition to this, 3 of the 4 students have won medals in the individual component. Reyhern took home the gold, Jaime the silver and Xin Yi the bronze.
