Temasek Academy (TA) Programme
Temasek Academy (Language Arts)
Temasek Academy (Language Arts) develops academically-talented students in English by honing their ability to write and speak with eloquence and conviction, and to engage critically and creatively with a wide variety of literary texts. Through workshops and seminars, students sharpen their skills in literary analysis, creative writing, speaking, drama, and journalism. They will also have the opportunity to work with visiting writers, journalists, and relevant industry practitioners.
All TA (Language Arts) students will be placed on the Temasek Academy (Humanities) from Year 3, where they will experience an inter-disciplinary approach to the study of Humanities subjects (Literature, Geography, History and Economics).
Temasek Academy (Humanities)
Temasek Academy (Humanities) aims to develop students who are academically talented and have shown passion for the Humanities. It aims to develop students who think clearly, feel deeply, and speak confidently. In order to achieve these goals, there are three core programmes that our students participate in: (1) An experience in Humanities research via the Humanities and Social Science Research Programme, Moot Parliament Programme or internal Capstone papers, (2) An experience in Philosophy research via our internal Philosophy of Thought Programme where students are taught critical thinking and dialoguing skills, culminating in a joint symposium with Nanyang Girls' High School and Raffles Institution, and (3) An immersive experience in Humanities fieldwork via planning and participation in an overseas Humanities trip.
Temasek Academy (Mathematics)
Temasek Academy (Mathematics) aims to expose students to Mathematical ideas and material outside the curriculum. Through Independent Study Modules (ISM), students will experience the challenges of a research project. They will build their communication skills through community sharing. Students will be introduced to Computational Thinking and programming in different languages to help construct models to test their hypotheses. Through this program, students will become part of a community of mathematics researchers sharing and building upon one another's questions, conjectures and theorems. In addition, the programme builds students’ competencies when they take part in Olympiads and various competitions.
