Our programme emphasises learner-centered approaches to teaching and learning. Based on inquiry, our tutors adopt a seminar-style teaching method with a strong emphasis on interaction and generation of ideas. Our academic curriculum is designed using the Understanding by Design© (UbD) framework, which allows disciplines to be integrated through exploring common Big Ideas, or Themes. Students are provided with ample platforms to handle real world issues through assignments and project tasks with an authentic backdrop. Recognizing that talent manifests itself in many ways, we use a variety of assessment modes, beyond just pen and paper testing, to provide sufficient feedback on students’ progress and performance. This includes alternative assessment modes such as authentic transfer tasks, journal writing, portfolios and independent research submissions, project presentation and online self-assessment.
