TJC SYMPHONIC BAND PRESENTS A NIGHT TO REMEMBER - LIMELIGHT 2018
The Symphonic Band performed at the Esplanade Concert Hall as part of the Limelight series. Limelight is a series that gives some of the best school choirs and symphonic bands in Singapore an opportunity to perform at the Esplanade Concert Hall, with the aim to inspire excellence in performance among schools.
AURORA XXII – A DREAMY NIGHT TO REMEMBER
On 18th May 2018, Friday, the Guitar Ensemble held their highly anticipated annual concert, AURORA XXII. The theme for this year’s concert was ‘Dreams’. It encapsulates the hope and free spirit of the youth - the stage of life that many in the audience can relate to.
CHINESE ORCHESTRA CONCERT
The college’s Chinese Orchestra, or TJCO as they are fondly referred to by many, held its much-awaited annual concert at the Singapore Conference Hall in May 2018. The concert, entitled Lumière, featured the incredible talents of the performers.

DRAMA SHOWCASE 2018
Our very own TJDrama put in tireless effort into bringing to life two plays and performing it for the college to see in a Drama Showcase. TJDrama presented a double bill, comprising of a comedy, “My Mother Thinks I Look Like Cristiano Ronaldo” and a devised piece, “The Nature Of Time That Can Never Rewind”.
A New Beginning for 42nd Students’ Council
On the 25th of April 2018, Temasek Junior College held the 42nd Students’ Council investiture. Themed Iridescence, the event marked the beginning of the 42nd Students’ Council’s journey of service to the college, and the stepping down of the 41st Students’ Council.
NOVICE TEAM BEATS DEFENDING CHAMPION AND WINS CHINESE DEBATE COMPETITION
Our very own Chinese debate team participated in the 2018 NUS “Lion Cup” Chinese debate competition. We competed against Maris Stella High School, Raffles Girls School, Hwa Chong Institution and Nanyang Girls’ High School before eventually emerging as champions.

Embracing History while staying Relevant
The Prime Minister’s lecture commemorating ISEAS Yusof Ishak Institute’s 50th anniversary was held on 13 March 2018 at Orchard Hotel. The event was attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other governmental agencies, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as students from schools across Singapore.

STEPHANIE DOGFOOT: EMPOWERING POETRY THROUGH SPOKEN WORD
Stephanie “Dogfoot” Chan is an accomplished poet who has participated in and won multiple poetry slams in the Americas, Europe and Asia. She has been writing poetry since the young age of 11 and performing them since 2008. She came to Temasek Junior College to expose the IP3 students to the powerful and empowering form of poetry known as Spoken Word as part of the programme for ACE Week.
Words Go Round at TJC
“Ever since I was 12, I knew I wanted to be a writer,” Mr Felix Cheong said as he shared how his love for literature was realized at such a young age. This exact passion for literature is what was showcased during Words Go Round, the Singapore Writers Festival outreach program for schools and the community.
